A little bit about Mieke:
Mieke is originally from Belgium, with the ability to speak fluent French, Dutch/Flemish, and a passive knowledge of German and Swahili, in addition to being fluent English.

Mieke has worked in Foreign Affairs and was posted in different countries and worked with colleagues from various nations, and credits this with giving more practical insight into how different cultures may think, behave or have differing opinions based upon their own cultural background and experience. This helped her to work within the requirements of her role and getting the requirements communicated in a culturally respectful way.
